Wesley Schwind, BS, MS4

Wesley Schwind is an M.D. candidate at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. He joins the Mendel Lab with an interest in ophthalmology and gene therapy. He brings strong experience from the Institute for Genomic Medicine at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Wesley's background includes elucidating novel mechanisms for therapeutic targeting of neurodevelopmental disorders using patient tissue, cell models, and cerebral organoid models. His favorite techniques include immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and scRNA-sequencing. When not in the lab, Wesley can be found reading novels, cooking with his wife, or playing board games.
